Ellen Swanson has been teaching piano students of various ages and levels since 2003. Ellen has maintained a home studio of over 25 students and has taught in China; Raleigh, North Carolina; Miami, Florida; and now Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoys teaching beginning students all the way through advanced students who are studying piano in college. Several of Ellen’s students have finished in the top three of several statewide school fine arts competitions.

 

Ellen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a concentration in piano performance from Datong University in China and has also completed her Master’s degree in Music Education from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

 

Although Ellen plays and teaches many types of music, she is classically trained and enjoys the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy.

 

In addition to playing the piano, Ellen enjoys singing and playing the Chinese zither. Ellen is bilingual – Mandarin and English.
